I am Ajay Bhadoo.

IAS Officer, serving as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Government e Marketplace (GeM).

Born and brought up in Rajasthan, Civil Engineer from NIT, Jaipur and an IAS Officer by occupation. Wearing many hats and playing many roles in social and professional life, I stumble upon my individuality every now and then. Professionally, I like to see myself as a learner and practitioner of public policy & management. Personally, I am an avid reader, an enthusiastic traveler, a keen sports lover, and a cinema buff.

Currently, I am serving in Department of Commerce as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Government e-Marketplace (GeM).

I previously served as the Deputy Election Commissioner at the Election Commission of India. I have also held the position of Joint Secretary to the President of India at Rashtrapati Bhavan and served as Municipal Commissioner of Vadodara. I have worked as CEO of the Gujarat Infrastructure Development Board. My experience spans regulatory and developmental administration, urban management, infrastructure, and port & shipping.

For last 20+ years as an IAS, I have served in various capacities and held positions such as Collector, Municipal Commissioner, Secretary to the Gujarat Chief Minister, and Joint Secretary to former President Ram Nath Kovind.

The idea of executing fresh, creative projects of large socio-economic impact always excites me. I follow developments in governance, economy, social trends, and arts & culture. I am an optimist who believes in the inevitable triumph of human spirit and idea of the civilization called India.
